Year 6 OC class wins Law Week Competition

Last term, 6D entered an investigation competition, run through the local Court at Belmont as part of Law Week 2009. Chatswood Public School was judged the most outstanding and was awarded first prize.

The class, led by William, Rebecca, Andrew, Jackie and Anita, had to investigate a hit and run accident, using statements and reports to identify which of 3 suspects was the driver at the time of the accident. They then needed to create a presentation, to be judged by an expert panel.

6D competed in an exceptional field of 10 entries from all across NSW including another OC class from a prestigious private school.

Feedback from one of the judges included:

When I watched the video and the presentation I wrote one word "awesome". This team has put in a great effort. I loved it! There must have been hours and hours of work go into this project. I want it made clear to the team how impressed I am with their effort. It had a perfect mix of intelligence and wit. It was a pleasure to mark and left me with a chuckle and smile on my face.
